Hi, I'm Srishti Jayin (@humheroine). I'm a commercial filmmaker, ex-journalist with Afternoon DC and reluctant screenwriter, building a bank of the stories I want to tell.  Currently, Im trying to create advertisements and experiment with mediums in this age of the content boom. I want to tell brand stories that speak both to the Gen Z intellectual as well as the woke millineal. I have over 9 years of experience directing in various formats and I intend to bridge the gap between purposeful storytelling in our age of fast churning content production through the work I do.

ABOUT ME

I am a Filmmaker, Screenwriter, Art Analyst (with a degree in art criticism and theory) and Former Journalist and Columnist for Afternoon DC. I have over 300 articles published in print but nowadays, analyse for passion on my Instagram 'Humheroine'.

My favourite artists are Sophie Calle, Agnes Varda, Joan Didion, Gerta Gerwig, Lena Dunham, Miranda July and others like them who captured the keen sensitivity with which women go about experiencing life and reclaiming their right on the stories they have lived to tell . My work spans over my former days as a 'BTS' person, and my evolution as a DA to Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava in 'Made In heaven S01'.

 

My foray into directing commercially has spanned over various mediums and genres and I intend to create a collage of autobiographical work in mixed mediums throughout my career. 

My short films 'Unfit' and 'Mimos' won awards at the prestigious MAMI and my earlier shots, 'Duplicate','Rickshaw Roko Mitra Mandal' also premiered at the festival.
